BAD END THEATER is coming to consoles!

We can’t keep our mouth shut, so we already left some breadcrumbs when we talked about Squeakross. Also, you’ll already know this if you follow us on social media, but we wanted to write a little post anyway:

NomnomNami’s BAD END THEATER🎭😭 is coming to consoles on July 10! Of course, the console version will be available both in Spanish and Basque. If you play on Switch, you’ll be able to open the theatre wherever you like, or earn the platinum trophy on PlayStation! (It will also be on Xbox, but, truth be told, we don’t have a joke for that.)

BAD END THEATER is massively important to us as a studio. It was our first ever translation (both into Spanish and into Basque), both localizations had an amazingly good reception, and it was our grand entrance into the Basque game-making scene. To a large extent, we owe to this game everything we have achieved so far, since it was the beginning of our journey. And we owe it to Nami as well, of course.

But BAD END THEATER isn’t just important to us! It was the first ever visual novel available in Basque, which introduced a brand-new genre to our language. This was an unprecedented event: truth is that Spanish developers rarely translate their games into Basque, let alone foreign developers. But NomnomNami, despite being American, decided to bet (heh, iykyk) on our language and, thanks to her, we can now enjoy an experience that has no equal in Basque. Fan translations are super important, but the fact that a developer wanted to translate their game into Basque and is ready to hire professional translators to do so elevated the language to a whole new level. It proved that Basque isn’t a second-rate language and that our work has value. And that’s wonderful for all of us.
