In April 2023, our sixth (oh my god, SIXTH) collaboration with the amazing NomnomNami was published: CHARM STUDIES.
In this game, a hybrid between visual novel and picross, players embodies Cassia, a young witch who was struggling to graduate high school. But, in order to do that, he had to pass her Charms class, which consists of drawing on different sized grids.
Thankfully, Cassia wasn’t alone: Senna, a brilliant and ambitious student at her same school, acted as her tutor to try and teach her everything she needed in order to pass (in exchange of a reasonable payment, of course.)
However, the happy-go-luck Cassia was the polar opposite of the super serious Senna, who couldn’t stand the fact that Cassia was taking her studies so unseriously.
New content on the Steam version
After being available for free during three years on Google Play and itch.io, Charm Studies has arrived on Steam, and it did so with a deluxe (and paid) edition that supports achievements, adds over 50 puzzles, and is available in SIXTEEN languages at launch. That said, fear not, because the itch.io and Google Play versions will remain free. They simply don’t include the new puzzles.
But what makes us happiest is that, in order to celebrate this new release… THE SPANISH TITLE OF THE GAME FINALLY GOT ITS OWN LOGO.

Nothing validates one’s work quite like seeing the title you came up with turned into an official logo. It’s one of the small pleasures of this job… and a pretty uncommon one. For those unaware, the only Spanish logos we have so far belong to Charm Studies, you’re just imagining it, Syrup and the Ultimate Sweet and drowning, drowning… It’s not fair to count Bad End Theater, her tears were my light and Bug Fables because they were already translated before we ever worked on them. (Though they look cool on the website, so we’re grateful regardless.)
We made the most of this re-release to make some small changes to the Spanish translation, but our work on this new version didn’t involve much else than that. However, Nami herself did work quite hard on it, and she even released a trailer where you can see some of the new content that this version introduces:
By the way, Nami’s plan is to release one of her old games on Steam every month from now on… although you won’t see any of them here in quite a while. Some of those games are so old that we haven’t worked on them ourselves. 🥲 That said, we encourage you all to play them regardless, because they’re all so frigging cute.
