HER TEARS WERE MY LIGHT is a visual novel created for NaNoRenO 2016.
It’s a short love story about Time and Space.
As Time, you can move forward, backward, or warp to any of your “save points” in the story. Can you use that power to save Space from her feelings of loneliness?

Sweet, sensitive, affectionate and empathetic, Space lives in the middle of a vast and seemingly empty universe. Feeling miserable, she spends the day crying in order to create stars that will help her fight off her loneliness. The light of those stars lures Time and allows the two of them to meet, but that same power may also catch someone else’s attention…

THEME SONG IN SPANISH
A few months after the release of the Spanish translation, we went a step further with the localization of HER TEARS WERE MY LIGHT and we released a surprise for all Spanish-speaking players: a Spanish cover of the game’s theme song!
This was our first time adapting the lyrics of a song to a different language. It sure was challenging to communicate to Nami (who doesn’t speak Spanish at all) how each word should sound so she could tune Eleanor Forte’s voice accordingly, but we were all very happy with the final result!

ETIV-UVIGO AWARDS
On May 20th, 2023, the University of Vigo held the second edition of the ETIV-UVIGO Awards, which seek to highlight the wonderful localization work Spanish professionals pull off in the field of videogames.
In thos awards, we were lucky enough to be nominated in the Best Videogame in Basque category thanks to our localization work on HER TEARS WERE MY LIGHT. Just imagine how shocked we were when we actually took the award home! We couldn’t possibly be any more grateful to the jury, composed of professionals of the field and university faculty, who contributed to the decision of giving us this award. We are beyond honoured.
This was only possible thanks to the Basque gaming community, who, thanks to their votes back in January of the same year, allowed us to make it to the final phase and made this award possible. Thank you so very much!!
